GREAT BEDWYN - SU 26 SW 4/67 Stable Block to Tottenham House (formerly listed as Stables at 22.8.66 Tottenham House [Savernake House Farm]) GV II Stable block, 1818, by Thomas Cundy II. Ashlar limestone, slate roof. Two-storey, 9 x 7 bays round open courtyard and with arched central entrance, with keyed archivolt and attic storey bearing supported Brudenell Brucearms. Vault coffered. Either side arcade of 3 blind arches with small lunettes and slightly projecting end pavilions with 20-pane sashes and Diocletian window over. Clock tower and belfry with dome over entrance arch. Interior elevations with 20-pane sashes and paired doors to 8 carriage houses in wing opposite to entrance. Cast iron gates to entrance with curved top and dog rails. Interior fittings of various dates. Brick stables to rear not of special interest.
