House. Later C17, E extension c.1960. Long, low, one and a half storeys, timberframed, plastered, facing N with low weatherboarded apron to front. Steep old red tiled gabled roof. Small gabled porch and rear kitchen wing at W end. Gabled tiled dormer to chamber over the heated main room. Plan has lobby entry and straight axial stair by side of central chimney near W end. 4 rooms in line originally entered from each other. Wide fireplace and chamfered axial beam to hall. Chamfered axial beams in 2 former unheated rooms to E. Modern E extension as library plastered and tiled to match with matching front gabled dormer. 4 modern rear dormers. Handsome later C17 red brick fire surround to room over hall with chamfered 4-centred opening and heavy moulded wooden shelf. Clasped purlin roof with collars exposed. Tall C19 cast iron pump next to rear wall with fluted chamber and S-shaped handle working through top of dome.
