GV II

Pair of houses with shops, now including additional flat. Mid C19. Painted stucco, freestone coping to parapet and sills, slate roof with stack to party wall. Double-depth plans. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys; 2-bay range. No.10 has late C19 cast-iron colonnettes with ornate openwork tops to the windows; a moulded cornice to the fascia; a left-of-centre canted bay to the upper floors with plate-glass sashes; lintel bands, that to the right of the 1st floor is missing. Nos 10A and 10B to the right (one building) has similar upper floors; to the right is a slightly set-back entrance bay with a mid C19 doorcase with reeded pilasters and entablature, 3-pane sidelights and a large overlight of 2 rectangular panes connected by diagonal glazing bars to the corners. C20 windows. INTERIORS: not inspected. Form a prominent group of mid C19 properties with Nos 11 & 12 (qv) in Northumberland Place.
