Details
SP4631 DEDDINGTON HIGH STREET (West side) 8/176 Grove Lodge
GV II House. Early C18. Coursed squared marlstone; Stonesfield-slate roof with brick stacks. L plan. 2 storeys plus attic. 3-window front has the entrance to right of centre, with a 6-panel door below a rectangular overlight, and has flanking 3-light windows; at first floor the 2-light windows are more closely spaced. All windows have C18/early C19 casements below flat arches. Steep-pitched roof has a stack to left, but right gable has a parapet with projecting moulded kneelers and contains a leaded casement. A similar gable to rear has a further stack, and rises above the lower rear wing returning from right. Interior not inspected.
