Details
SP4631 DEDDINGTON HORSEFAIR (South side) 8/181 Horsefair Cottage GV II I House mid C18, part probably earlier. Marlstone ashlar; Welsh-slate roof with brick stacks. 3-unit plan in 2 builds. 2 storeys. 2 bays to right of 3 window front have a regular arrangement with a central doorway, now blocked, and 2-light casements in the outer bays, except for a small canted bay window to right of the doorway; all openings have flat arches with tall projecting keyblocks, at ground floor linked to a storeyband. Small C20 window inserted above doorway. Left bay of house breaks forward and contains the entrance, with a small stone canopy, plus a 2-light casement at each floor; the moulded plinth is related to that on Old Corner House nearby (q.v.) which is probably C17. Steep-pitched roof has stacks flanking each section. Interior not inspected. Included for group value.
