Details
WALLSEND THE GREEN (east end) NZ 36 NW 7/154 Cross House 24.2.77 II G.V. School, now private residence. 1748 gift to village by Isabel Stewart, daughter of James Moncaster of Newcastle and Wallsend; 1819, porch restored c.1980. Rendered; rubble rear with ashlar quoins; pantiled roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays and one-storey left entrance porch. Renewed door under keyed lintel in right return of porch with pilasters and blocking course. All windows sashes with glazing bars in plain reveals; first floor string. Roof has low gable parapet and one right end rendered chimney. Source: W. Richardson, History of the Parish of Wallsend. Newcastle 1923.
