Mill House Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse, externally late C18 with extension to right 1929; some C17
timbers internally. Of local red brick in English garden wall bond
with Kerridge stone-slate and clay tile roofs. Of 3 builds, in line,
all of 2 storeys, but with roofs of different height. The central
portion, of one bay, is probably oldest, with altered inglenook
against left wall and 2 chamfered longitudinal beams of oak
internally. C20 small-pane wood casements under plain camber arches.
The left wing of 2 windows to lower and 3 to upper storey has
casements as in central portion, but under rubbed brick segmental
skewback arches. C20 door under low pointed fanlight; a secondary
C20 door to right. The 1929 wing (datestone at back) has a tiled
roof.
