Details

TL 50 NE WILLINGALE MILLERS GREEN ROAD, (East side) 5/108 Blowers II

House, former cottages, early-middle C17. Timber framed and plastered. Of 'T' shaped plan form with 2 storey two-bay crosswings at south end with half- hipped thatched roof with gable end stack on west and truncated stack against east side. Single storey and attics, lower block to north with peg tile roof. Half hipped at north end and central ridgeline, red brick stack and lean-to dormer on west side. Windows are a mixture of C19 small pane casements and C20 timber casements with C20 black boarded, lead roofed oriel bay on west elevation of lower block. Projecting red brick and black boarded C20 porch with lean-to peg tile and patent glazed roof in front of crosswing. Interior of cross wing reveals conventional box framing of middle C17 with jowled posts and straight bracing. Low block is a curious aisled structure with jowled posts placed parallel with the plan form and narrower stack bay in centre with later stack and bread oven with perfect wrought and cast iron door. The rear now has a gabled central dormer in roof slope.
