House divided into two dwellings. c1600, with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Timber-framed, painted brick infill, plain tiled roofs. L-plan; main part of four framed bays aligned east/west; external chimneys with tiled offsets at gable ends; single-bay wing projects to front of east gable end chimney. Part two storeys, part single storey and attic with dormers. Framing: main part of three panels from sill to wall-plate, collar and tie-beam trusses with struts at gable ends; wing is jettied to front and east side on shaped brackets, has two rows of panels above and below jetty and long straight braces across lower corners of both storeys; collar and tie-beam truss in south gable end with two struts to collar and a concave V-strut in apex. South front elevation: cottage to left has two ground and first floor 2- light casements and central ledged and battened door. Cottage to right has two C20 ground floor 2-light casements, a full gabled dormer with paired C20 rectangular lights and, in the gable end of the wing, a first floor 2- light casement; main entrance beneath has a C20 half-glazed door. All ground floor windows and first floor window of wing have plank weatherings. Interior not inspected. One of a group of buildings surrounding The Square.
