Farmhouse. Early C17, altered during mid-C19 and further C20 alterations. Timber-framed completely encased in pebbledash render on sandstone rubble plinth and with east gable end also of rubble; tiled roofs; brick shafts to stacks. L-plan with cross-wing at west end; main wing extended to east with further additions to north side; north gable end of cross-wing adjoins barn (qv) which extends to north. Entrance now to west side of cross-wing; one axial and one east gable-end stack to main wing, north gable-end stack to cross-wing. Two storeys, attics and cellars. West entrance front: two 9-pane glazing bar sash windows to first floor, large 6-pane glazing bar sash window to left of gabled porch; inner ledged door, plain overlight. Two sections of square panelled timber-framing are revealed to rear which also shows that the roof of the main wing was raised, probably during the mid-C19. Interior retains chamfered ceiling beams and re-used C17 panel- ling in present hallway; a small panel of plasterwork with fielded margin survives in a bedroom to the south-east.
