CASTLE CARY CP
CHURCH STREET (West side)

East boundary wall, about 12 metres east of All Saints Church

GV
II

Boundary wall. Probably C19. Cary stone, roughly squared and random coursed, with Doulting dressings. Wall of about 65
metres length, having chamfered plinth, deep angled coping with roll-top, with 16 offset buttresses to nearly full
height, which averages 3 metres. At north end pair square gate piers with ornamental flattish pyramid caps, and similar
piers at south end; to both gateways wrot-iron late C20 gates, the south gateway having iron lanterns mounted on gate
piers. The wall contributes greatly to the setting of the church (qv) and the street scene.
