7/50 Two unidentified monuments in churchyard, about 5 metres south of porch, Church of St George
GV II Pair of chest tombs. Both probably late C17. (a) The more easterly: chest tomb. late C17. Ham stone. Base buried; north flank plain, one semi-circular arched panel with imposts, keystone and egg- and-dart ornament to each end, and 2 panels to south flank; plain frieze; cyma-recta coving to heavy flat top. Inscription badly worn. (b) The western of the the pair: chest tomb. Late C17. Ham stone. Base buried; plain sides and flanks, with incised decoration on north side; cyma-recta coving to heavy flat top. Inscription badly worn.
