Details
PREES C.P. PREES GREEN SJ 53 SE 7/83 Sandylane Farmhouse - and attached wall 28.10.60 to left - II Farmhouse. Early to mid-C18 with possibly slightly earlier range to rear; later additions and alterations. Red brick with corner pilaster to left and similar pilaster to right of centre; machine tile roof with lozenge-shaped patterns and crow-step gables. T-plan with C19 brick lean-tos in angle at rear. 2 storeys to main range, one storey and attic to rear range, both with dentilled eaves cornices; 3 widely spaced windows to front, late C20 casements replacing glazing bar sashes, ground- floor openings with infilled segmental heads. Central mid-C19 pilastered doorcase with half-glazed door; prominent rendered ridge stack to left and external end stack to right. Rendered rear range has two C20 casements with segmental heads to ground floor and two C20 gabled eaves dormers directly above. Roughly central entrance behind C20 flat-roofed porch with prominent rendered ridge stack in 2 sections immediately to left and small subsidiary stack to right. Wall attached to front left corner of main range: probably C18. Red brick with sandstone coping ramped down from junction with house. Interior: inspection not possible at time of resurvey (January 1986) but main range noted as having light timber framing to ground-floor cross-walls.
