Details
LOPPINGTON C.P. NONELEY SJ 42 NE 10/52 Grafton Farmhouse - - II Farmhouse. Mid- to late C17, remodelled and extended late C18 with later additions and alterations. Timber frame now concealed by render and red brick cladding; red brick additions; concrete tile roofs. Original house of 2 framed bays (central gabled range) brick clad to front in late C18 when short range was added to left and similar double-span extension added to right. 2 storeys and attics with dentilled eaves cornices to C18 additions. Irregular fenestration, early and late C20 casements with segmental heads, one to first floor of gable with 2 paired to ground floor; one to each floor of right addition with a small inserted window above late C20 gabled brick porch. Left addition has one blind segmental-headed window on each floor with glazing bars painted in imitation. Integral brick end stack to left and prominent stack in roof slope of right rear range. Interior: chamfered spine beams with heavy joists throughout to ground floor. C17 part has several plank doors and oak staircase with moulded handrail from first floor to attic. Double- purlin roof in 2 bays with central king-strut truss has collar and tie beam truss with V-struts from collar visible to front gable in attic.
