8/73 Oak House Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Late C17 with later additions and alterations. Timber
framed with red brick infill, cladding and plinth and early to mid-C18
brick to left gable end; slate roof. One storey and attic; apparently
in 3 framed bays. Framing: square and rectangular panels, 4 from cill
to wall-plate with short straight brace to left of centre and 3 square and
tall rectangular panels to right and right gable end, which has collar and
tie beam truss. C20 casements, 2 to left and 2 to right of roughly central
boarded door with one directly below eaves above right window. Gabled
eaves dormer immediately above entrance. Red brick ridge stack to right of
centre and integral end stack to left, both with tops rebuilt in late C19
brick. Full-length red brick and corrugated iron lean-tos to rear.
Interior. Inspection not possible at time of resurvey (February 1987) but
noted as having chamfered ceiling beams and joists to ground-floor rooms.
