9/71 Framley Cottage and - Barset Cottage

GV II

Shown on 0.S. map as Bank Cottage. Pair of cottages. Mid- to late C17 with early C20 and late C20 alterations and additions. Timber framed with painted brick and plastered infill, and painted brick additions; plain tile roof. Framing: square panels. One storey and attic. Gabled semi-dormers and gabled eaves dormer to right, all with 2-light wooden or metal casements; integral brick end stack to left, external pebbledashed brick end stack to right, and brick just behind ridge off-centre to left. 4-window front; early C20 paired small-paned wooden casements to right and segmental-headed 2-light metal casements to left; small staircase window off-centre to right and 2-light attic casement beneath eaves off-centre to left. Roughly central half- glazed C20 door, and lean-to brick porch off-centre to left with small casement to front and boarded door in left-hand return. C20 brick addition set back to right with ground-floor 2-light metal casement Lean-to addition and late C20 gabled wing at rear. Interiors not inspected but likely to be of interest.
