Farmhouse. Circa 1600 and mid-C17, remodelled in the mid-C19. Pebbledashed timber frame with brick nogging, underbuilt in painted brick with flush dressed red sandstone plinth and quoins, and extended in painted brick; slate roof, 2-span to left. Framing: (concealed) square panels with long straight tension braces. L-plan; 2 + 1 framed bays with later infill in angle. 2 storeys and gable-lit attic over basement. Sprocketed eaves; external brick end stacks. 3 bays; C19 three-light wooden casements; central 4-panelled half-glazed door with moulded architrave, 4-part rectangular overlight, and late C19 gabled timber porch with baluster sides and pierced shaped barge boards with finial. Probably C18 service wing at rear; painted brick with square-panelled timber framed first floor; one storey and gable-lit attic; integral brick end stack. Interior: chamfered beams with plain and ogee stops; large open fireplace in right-hand ground-floor room with large chamfered lintel; C17 dog-leg staircase with winders and C19 balustrade, except for C17 newel post in attic with finial; first-floor early C18 panelled door and old boarded attic doors. Roof with large purlins and collar and tie-beam end trusses; truss in rear wing altered to alllow walk-through.
