- II
Farmhouse. Probably C17, extended mid-C19 with later additions and alterations. Roughcast concealing timber frame with uncoursed limestone rubble additions, slate roofs. L-plan consisting of C17 range with C19 addition at right-angles to rear on left. 2 storeys and gable- lit attic, cellars; 3-window front, late C20 casements to both floors with C19 six-panel door in plain doorcase between second and third windows from left; large stone and brick external end stick to left. Timber framed lean-to dairy to rear with tall external brick stack to left (top rebuilt in C19); full gabled dormer lighting staircase. 2-storey C19 addition has segmental-headed casements on each floor and boarded door to right; integral end stack has red brick shaft. Interior: massive chamfered spine beams with stepped ogee stops to 2 main ground-floor rooms; plank and muntin door with L-hinges leads to cellar; similar door with rectangular barred overlight at foot of oak staircase: this leads to attic and has carved splat balusters on first-floor landing; jowled wall post exposed to back wall on stairs to attic, several plank doors to first floor and attic. Queen-strut roof in 3 bays with upper and lower collars and double purlins.
