Cottage. Early C17 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed
with rendered infill on rubblestone plinth; reed thatch roof, hipped to left.
One storey and attic; apparently of 3 framed bays. Framing: square panels,
3 from cill to wall-plate with long straight tension braces. 4 windows to
front, one C20 and one late C19 casement to left of C20 glazed door under
contemporary gabled porch with C19 three-light casement and C19 fixed-light
window to right. 2 slightly pointed eyebrow eaves dormers with C19 casements.
Rear has C19 casement to left, C19 fixed-light window to centre and late C20
casement to right, all in panels of framing. Prominent timber framed gabled
full dormer to left of centre with intersecting braces to apex has paired
C19 casements. External brick end stack to right and subsidiary C20 brick
stack in roof slope to rear. Interior. Not inspected but likely to be
of interest. C20 lean-tos to left and right, painted black and white in
imitation of timber frame, are not of special architectural interest.
