RUYTON-XI-TOWNS C.P. EARDISTON SJ 32 SE SJ 32 NE 8/145 and 4/145 Eardiston House -

GV II

Farmhouse. Early to mid-C18, extended mid-C19 with minor later additions and alterations. Painted brick (on painted sandstone block plinth to C19 addition); hipped slate roofs, gabled to rear. Original block of 5 x 3 bays extended by set-back range to left in C19. Three storeys to C18 part, 2 storeys to C19 addition. 5 windows to C18 part, glazing bar sashes with painted gauged heads and of reduced proportions directly below eaves to second floor, all blind and painted in imitation except to centre on first floor and to left on ground and first floors. Right return has glazing bar sashes on both floors, lower left replaced by late C19 or early C20 canted bay with French window. Central recessed entrance; mid-C19 half-glazed door with panelled reveals under Doric porch with plain entablature. East side of C19 addition has glazing bar sashes on each floor to left and right of prominent flat-roofed brick porch; round-headed arch has 5-panel door (formerly 6-panel) with plain semi-circular fanlight, approached by flight of 4 stone steps. Ridge, end and valley stacks to both ranges. Stone mounting block attached to front right corner of C19 range.
