7/142 No.5 and attached - former Cowhouse to South

GV II

Farmhouse, now house; and cowhouse, now garage and store. C16 or C17, remodelled in mid-to-late C19. Timber framed house, refaced and/or rebuilt in coursed limestone rubble; slate roof. T-plan house with projecting gabled cross-wing to South. One storey and attic. Large central stone ridge stack. Ground floor late C20 four-light wooden casement in hall range to left; right-hand cross wing with 2-light late C19 metal attic casement and ground floor 3-light metal casement off- centre to left; 6-panelled door (top panels glazed) to right with gabled porch. Exposed timber frame in jettied gable-end at rear of cross wing; gabled eaves-dormer to rear of hall range. Former cow- house to South. Probably early to mid-C19; coursed limestone rubble with graded slate roof. 2 storeys; late C20 concrete block addition to West; boarded loft door and 2-leaf boarded stable floor door to East with later corrugated iron addition; late C20 boarded garage doors in corrugated-iron clad gable-end to South.
