SP2804-2904 CARTERTON AND BLACK BOURTON BURFORD ROAD (West side) Black Bourton 10/158 The Old Farmhouse
II Farmhouse, now house. Early C18, refurbished and extended to rear C20. Coursed rubble limestone, stone slate roof, rebuilt rubble stone chimneys. 3-unit plan with traces of blocked lobby entry, and slightly later C18 extension to rear of left bay. 2 storeys and attic, 4-bay fenestration. C20 3-light barred wooden casements, probably in original openings, the upper windows in 3 left bays with old wooden lintels. Ground floor windows and that to first floor right have C20 concrete lintels. 2 gabled roof dormers with C20 2-light barred wooden casements. Traces of blocked doorway in line with stack between right bays. C20 entry in right gable end. Left side has demi-circular oven projection to later rear bay. Interior: chamfered spine beams in right bays, the left bay with stop-chamfered cross beam; fireplace to right of centre with dressed stone jambs and later lintel; winder stair from first floor to attic, on axis with same stack; original double-purlin roof.
