Details
CLANFIELD A4095 SP20SE (East side) 2/4 Barn approx. 50m N of Friars Court GV II Barn. Mid- and late C18, roof to left part rebuilt in late C19. Uncoursed limestone rubble; half-hipped stone slate roof. L-plan with gabled range at right-angles to rear on right. Main range in 2 parts and of different dates. Left part has wide entrance with lean-to hood in third bay from left and opposing cart entrance with double doors to rear. Ramped buttresses to left of entrance and to right corner with later lean-to's on either side of cart entrance to rear. Right part (slightly set back) has wide entrance with lean-to hood in second bay from left, infilled doorway with wood lintel to left and opposing gabled cart entrance with double doors and chequered brick side walls to rear. Narrow rectangular air vents. Interior: left part has late C19 king-post roof in 4 bays and right part has mid C18 double-purlin collar and tie beam roof in 5 bays; similar collar and tie beam roof in 4 bays to rear range.
