CORNWELL WORCESTER ROAD SP22NE (South-west side) 4/88 Hill Farmhouse

Shown on O.S. map as Cornwell Hill Farmhouse. Farmhouse, now house. Mid-C17 with later additions and alterations. Roughly coursed limestone rubble; stone slate roof. Basic L-plan with slightly later range to rear on left, which has catslide outshut to left side. 2 storeys and attic. 3-window front; former 3-light mullion windows with C19 casements inserted directly below eaves and one to lower left with dripstone. C19 casements to either side of C20 door to right of centre, left casement and door under late C20 conservatory (not of special architectural interest). Gabled 3-light dormer in roof slope to left. Internal end stacks with purple engineering brick shafts. Rear range cuts through label-stop of former 3-light mullion window with C19 casement inserted in back wall. Interior. Chamfered spine beats to ground-floor rooms, front left (formerly 2) also with exposed joists and winder staircase to right of infilled inglenook, formerly continuing to attic. Corner fireplace to rear range. Low C20 range linking with formerly detached outbuilding to front not of special architectural interest. [2532]
