Shown on O.S. map as Post Office. House, latterly partly used as post office, now all reverted to domestic use. Late C17, extended late C18 with later additions and alterations. Roughcast limestone rubble to C17 part, roughly coursed limestone rubble to C18 addition; slate roofs with coped verges. 2 storeys and gable-lit attics. C17 part in 2 bays with 3-light chamfered leaded mullion window on each floor to right and 2-light mullion window to first floor on left directly above C20 gabled stone porch. Integral end stack to right with purple engineering brick shaft above dripstone. C18 addition to left has C19 single-storey gabled range (former post office) with eaves raised C20 projecting to front. Leaded casement on each side to first floor, right with flush keystone, and one on right to ground floor. Central ridge stack with purple engineering brick shaft above dripstone. C20 flat-roofed addition to rear of both ranges is not of special architectural interest. [2593]
