Details

GV II
House, probably latterly divided. Late C17 with later alterations. Roughly coursed limestone and marlstone rubble with alternating angle quoins; concrete tile roof with coped verges. 2 storeys and attic. C20 metal casements, directly below eaves to centre and right and 3 with earlier segmental heads to ground floor, 2 to centre in position of infilled doorways. Larger C20 casement to left with contemporary flat-roofed eaves dormers directly above. Ridge stacks to left and right of centre, rebuilt in concrete above dripstones. Interior. Chamfered cross beams with stepped ogee stops to 2 right ground-floor rooms, that between stacks with stone-flag floor and carved stonework pillar supporting beam to back wall. Large chimney breasts with infilled inglenook fireplaces, right with position of oak winder staircase (still surviving from first floor to attic) to left. First floor has carved chevron decoration to wood lintel of one of casements in back wall and chamfered ceiling beams, that in right room serving as tie beam to principal rafters of single butt-purlin roof.
