Details

WOODSTOCK OXFORD STREET SP4416NW (East side) 9/165 Nos.72 and 74 - II Two houses. Mid/late C17; refronted in early C19 and house to left (part of No.74) built in early C19. No.72: coursed limestone rubble, with squared stone to raised eaves; gabled concrete tile roof; brick ridge stack. 2-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. Keyed segmental arches over C20 door and ground-floor windows; timber lintels over C20 casements on first floor. Mid/late C19 gabled roof dormers. Early C19 No.74 of similar materials with brick end stacks. 2-storey-and-attic, one-window range has flat stone arches over beaded 6-panelled door with overlight, mid C19 horned 6-pane sash and early C19 eight-pane sash; gabled half dormer. Interior of No.72: stop-chamfered beam with jewel stops; quarter-turn stairs and stone stairs to cellar with open fireplace; collar-truss roof with butt purlins. Included for group value.
