Details
CHIPPING NORTON NEW STREET SP 3027-3127 (south side) 3/65 No 16 (Antiques) 3.3.69 GV II Shop. Early C19 remodelling, incised and colourwashed render with a shallow pitched gabled slate roof, 2 stacks W brick, and E end stone stack with brick cap. Three storeys. The roadside facade has 2 canted bays rising through the 3 floors to the deeply overhanging eaves. Each section of glazing is separated from the next by a plain panel with an incised square. Top floor glazing is small pane casements, first floor is 16-pane sashes and the shop front windows have no glazing bars. Central glazed door set beneath a shop sign which connecta the 2 bays. This has ornamental trellis work and lion mask panels. Deeds go back to 1634.
