GV II
House. Mid C17 with C18 front. Rendered plinth; roughcast, probably on brick; old plain-tile roof hipped to right; rendered end stack to left. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. 6-panel part-glazed door to centre with flat hood on shaped brackets. Tripartite unhorned sashes with glazing bars and architrave surrounds to left and right. Rendered flat band between ground and first floor. 4-pane window with architrave surround to first floor centre. Tripartite unhorned sashes with glazing bars and architrave surrounds to left and right. Paired shaped brackets to eaves. 2 flat-roofed full dormers with 2-light wood casements with architrave surrounds. Interior not inspected. Red brick wall to right with Gothick doors to archways. Reputed to have been where Cromwell stayed during the siege of Wallingford in 1646.
