House and Post office. c.1895. Red brick plinth; large timber-framing with rendered infill; old plain-tile roof; brick ridge stack to centre. "Old English" style. Single storey and attic; 2-window range. 2 wood oriels to ground floor with hipped roofs and glazing bars. 2 gabled half-dormers with 2-light casements and shaped bargeboards. Left return: plank door to left. Attic jettied. Wood oriel window with gabled roof to gable end of roof. Interior not inspected. Post Office attached by covered walkway with wood baluster screen. Post Office:brick plinth; old plain-tile roof. L-plan with additions. Single-storey, 3-window range at right-angles to house. Panel door to right of centre. Irregular fenestration of wood mullion and transom windows. History: the village shop, now the Post Office, was established as a co-operative on the Rochdale system, by Lord Wantage for his tenants.
