GV II

Manor house. Early C17, with early C18 cross-wing to left, and C20 addition to right. Brick; some small timber-framing to centre, with brick infill; complex old plain-tile roof; various brick stacks. Single storey and attic; 4-window range with cross-wing of 2 storeys and attic to left. C20 panelled door to centre. Irregular fenestration of sashes and casements. Left return of cross-wing: red brick with flared headers in Flemish bond; half-hipped roof. 2 storeys and attic; 5-window range. 18-pane unhorned sashes to all openings except 12-pane unhorned sashes to ground and first floor centre. Shaped brick band between ground and first floors. Dentil cornice to eaves. 2 full dormers to attic with segmental pediments. Rear: 6-panel door with wood Doric pilaster surround and flat hood on carved brackets to right of centre. Irregular fenestration of casements and sashes. Interior: dog-leg staircase with barley-sugar twist and fluted balusters, moulded handrail and panelled dado. Early C18 panelling to some rooms in early C18 cross-wing.
