STOKE TALMAGE SU69NE 4/164 Manor Farmhouse
GV II
Farmhouse. Late C17, remodelled in mid C18 and late C19. Chequer bond brick to right, mid C18 English bond brick to left wing; old tile roof, gabled to right and hipped to left; brick ridge and right end stacks. L-plan with rear right wing. 2 storeys; 3-window range. Late C19 six-panelled (4 glazed) door and lean-to porch. Segmental arches over late C19 sashes. String course to right: late C19 gable built over front left bay. Interior: chamfered and stopped beams, early C18 fireplace with pulvinated frieze to right. First floor not inspected but likely to be of interest. The farmhouse was described as "newly erected" in 1697. (V.C.H.: Oxfordshire, Vol.VIII, p.199).
