GV II

House. Mid C18 front range, probably mid C17 to rear. Grey brick with red brick dressings; old plain-tile hipped roof; various brick stacks. 3-storey, 5-window range. 6-panel door with decorative fanlight to round arched recessed opening to centre. 12-pane unhorned sashes with cambered brick heads to ground and first floors. Flat red brick bands between ground and first floors, and between first and second floors. 9-pane unhorned sashes with cambered brick heads to second floor. Mid C17 cross-wing to rear: large timber framing with brick infill; old plain-tile roof. Interior not inspected but likely to be of interest. Moated site. (V.C.H. Berkshire, Vol.3, 25, p.464).
