GV II

House, now library and flat. Mid/late C16, remodelled in mid C19. Originally timber-framed. Front of mid C19 Flemish bond brick with flared headers; rest of flint rubble with brick dressings; gabled old tile roof; brick left end stack. 3-unit plan. 2-storeys; 3-window range. Flat gauged brick arches over mid C19 four-panelled door with overlight and mid C19 horned sashes to left; mid C19 shop front with C20 door to right; timber lintels over first-floor mid C19 horned sashes. Dentilled eaves. C18 two-storey wing of brick to rear left. Interior: ground floor has quartered cased beams, one chamfered: first floor open to 3-bay queen-post roof with curved windbraces and clasped purlins. Two-storey stuccoed bay to right has mid C19 horned sash over horizontal sliding sash and mid C19 two-panelled door: C16 chamfered arch-braced collar truss.
