WATERPERRY SP60NW 6/194 Commonleys Farmhouse
- II
Farmhouse. Early/mid C18. Brick with some limestone rubble and timber framing; old plain-tile roof and brick gable stacks. Double-depth plan. One storey plus attics. 2-window front, in header-bond, has moulded brick plinth and dentil eaves course with vertical strips of red headers between areas of vitrified brickwork. Central glazed door between 2 segmental-arched 3-light casements; 2 gabled 2-light dormers, probably not original. Hipped gable outshut to right has rubble base and the end wall is timber framed and formerly open at ground floor. Left end has large projecting chimneys to both ranges with moulded brick offsets. Rear has similar plinth and eaves but is in Flemish bond; it has further segmental-arched door and casements. Double-span roof. Interior: Chamfered beams; large brick-arched open fireplaces.
