C15/C16. Timber framed house with colour washed, brick infilling. Old tiled roof with central chimney. Two storeys and attic. East front symmetrical with three reproduction casement windows, with leaded glazing, on each floor. Small C18 wing adjoins with modern entrance door. Finely sited at the top of the hill.

The raised pavement and wall forms part of a group with Nos 5 to 19 (odd) the South Oxfordshire Technical College Old School and Main Buildings, Nos 43 to 49 (odd) and the wall and gate piers to former Paradise House. Ancastle Cottage, Nos 2 to 36 (even) and the pavement surface in front of Nos 2 to 36 (even) opposite. Ancastle Cottage also forms a group with the entrance walls, piers and gates and the lower lodge of Friar Park.
