NORTH NEWINGTON BANBURY ROAD SP 4139 (East side) 14/34 The Roebuck Public House GV II Public house, Late Cl7 with later alterations. Finely jointed coursed, squared ironstone. Steeply pitched slate roof. Stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. Brick shafts on stone end stacks. 3-unit plan with extension to rear forming L-plan. 2 storeys plus attic. 3-window range. Two entrances have C20 doors and wood lintels. Ground floor has a C20 window, a 3-light metal casement in wood trade and a C20 bay window. First floor has a renewed 2-light casement in wood frame and 2-light wood mullioned and transomed windows with small opening casements. Wood lintels throughout. Gabled dormer. Rear single-storey extension. Slate roof. Brick shaft on stone base. Semi-circular staircase projection. Interior not inspected.
