Details

HORTON CUM STUDLEY BRILL ROAD SP61SW (West side) Studley 8/56 Rose Cottage 20/07/77 - II House. Late C17/early C18. Timber framing with colourwashed brick infill on limestone rubble plinth; old plain-tile roof with brick stacks. 3-unit plan. One storey plus attic. 3-window front has a central doorway with a tiled canopy on wooden posts and, to right, has 2 casements and a low first-floor window; wall to left of door has been rebuilt in brick. Roof has gabled dormers, to left and above the door, and has 2 old stacks to left of centre plus an added stack on the right gable wall. Added brick bay to left, with a dentil eaves course, is probably a converted late C18/early C19 outbuilding. Interior not inspected.
