- II

Canal and river bridge. Late C18; river bridge possibly earlier. Coursed squared limestone with some ashlar dressings. Canal bridge has a segmental arch with projecting imposts and keyblock linked by a plain hood mould; parapet rises over arch from square piers on the east and has a flat coping; north face has a cast-iron plate inscribed "210". River bridge on west has a group of 3 graduated semi-circular arches rising from ashlar piers, with small triangular cutwaters on both sides; piers and flanking projecting strips have ashlar imposts continued as bands under the arches. The approach from the west is by a short causeway, curving northwards, which has further ashlar piers and a rebuilt flood arch.
