Details
HOOK NORTON HIGH STREET SP3533 (South side) 10/45 Priestfield 08/12/55 (Formerly listed as Belldin House)
GV II House. Probably C17 with alterations in C18 and C19. Coursed regular ironstone rubble with the ground floor stuccoed. Moulded bands at first and second floors. Plain wood cornice. Welsh slate, hipped roof. 3 rendered brick stacks at ends and 2/3 along ridge from left. 3 storeys. 3 bays. Mainly 16- pane sash windows to front elevation. 2 C20 bay windows. Arched carriageway to left. Datestone W/CD/1702 over back doorway attributed to William Councer who probably rebuilt the house at this time. Interior: C19 plaster friezes and hall ceiling.
