BLOXHAM CHURCH STREET SP4235 (East side) 9/71 Chest tomb to Roger Mathew and wife Anne approx. 30m. SE of chancel of Church of St. Marv

Chest tomb. Dated 166?. Limestone. Slab top has hollow mouldings and chamfered sides. Chest has panelled sides, strapwork decoration and Tuscan columns. Inscription: 'Here lyeth the bodies of Mr. Roger Mathew and Anne his wife. She departed this life the 26th April 166?. He being -(?) of this parish fiftie yeares -(?) 1657'.
