GV II
Aisled hall house. Early C17. Clad in brick and altered late C18 and C19. Attached to the west side, an early C19 cottage, rebuilt c1975, formerly 42. Timber framed, with brick cladding and steep pitched hipped and gabled pantile roof with a gablet at the south end. 2 gable and single corner stacks. Single storey plus attics. East front has a near central blocked doorway containing a 2-light casement. To its right, a C20 lean-to glazed porch, and to its left a 2-light casement. All these openings have segmental heads. Above, a central 2-light cross-eaves dormer. South end, to street, has a C20 casement to left and above, a small C18 casement and a Yorkshire sash. North end has a C19 single storey addition. Interior has 3 bay posts with arch braces. The southern pair carry a first floor stud wall with rendered nogging. On the west side, an aisle plate and 2 winder staircases. Central ground floor room has a stop-chamfered spine beam. Southern room has a chamfered and moulded spine beam and unusually heavy floor joists. Rebuilt cottage, to west, brick with steep pitched pantile roof, has a corner stack. Single storey plus garret. West front has a central close-boarded door and to its right, a Yorkshire sash. Gable end, to street, has a single Yorkshire sash on each floor, the upper one smaller. Interior has a single purlin roof with collars.
