Details

STAYTHORPE PINGLEY CLOSE SK 75 SE (north side) 3/83 The Manor House II House. Late C17, some later C19 brick patching. Red brick. Decorative machine tile roof with decorative ridge cresting. Single ridge red brick stack. Originally a hall house with baffle entrance. Single storey plus attic, 6 bays, the left single bay projecting cross wing, is gabled and is of 2 storeys. Doorway with plank and part glazed door and gabled wood and plain tile hood. Either side are single C20 tripartite glazing bar cross casements with single similar casement further left in the projecting bay and 2 similar smaller casements to the right. Above right is a single similar smaller casement. In the gabled bay is a single similar tripartite casement. There are 2 gabled dormers each with narrow bargeboard finial and single similar cross casement. The left gabled bay has 2 tie plates. In the re-entrant angle is a small pilaster strip. Interior has 2 bressummer fireplaces and ground floor chamfered beams with ogee and broach stops.
