PERLETHORPE CHURCH LANE SK 67 SW CUM BUDBY (south side) 1/87 The Almshouses and Tudor Lodge G.V. II

2 houses. 1894. Formerly estate almshouses. By W. O. Hickson, for third Earl Manvers. Brick and mock timber framing with colourwashed plastered nogging. Hipped and gabled plain tile roofs. Tudor Vernacular Revival style. Brick plinth, 3 ridge and single external side wall stacks, corbelled. 2 storeys, 5 bays. E-plan. Doors have ogee rubbed brick heads. Windows are cross and mullioned timber casements. West front has to left, canted gabled bay with casement and door. To right, 2 casements. Central gable has projecting central bay with casement flanked by single doors. To right, 2 casements. Canted right gable has central casement and door to left. Above, 3 casements. Central gable has datestone inscribed 'Erected by Sydney William Herbert Pirrepont Third Earl Manvers for the benefit of the old labourers on the Thoresby Estate 1894. Pie Repone Te'. Return angle to left has door and above, a casement. Return angle to right has, above, a casement. South gable has casement with segmental head, and a door. Above, a casement. North gable has a door and a casement and C20 porch forming link to original wash house, single storey, 3 bays, with large ridge stack. Above, a casement. Rear elevation has 2 short hipped wings.
