17/239 Field Head Farmhouse.
II
House, late C17 or early C18 altered c. 1800, extended and refenestrated late C19. Coursed rubble with large roughly-cut quoins and later cut dressings; C20 grey tile roof except for Welsh slates on extension; grey brick stacks. Main part 2 storeys, 3 bays, slightly irregular. Left of centre boarded door in tooled stone surround, under rustic wood porch; flanking 24-pane Yorkshire sashes and 12-pane sashes to 1st floor, all with tooled lintels and sills. Coped gables with stepped end stacks. Slightly lower I-bay extension to right has tooled-and- margined quoins; 20-pane casement (re-used tooled lintel) with 12-pane Yorkshire sash above; hipped roof, Lower outbuilding to left not of interest.
Interior: some 2-panel doors; 5-bay upper-cruck roof.
