11/243 Farmbuildings to west of Whittonstall Hall Farmhouse.

II

Planned farmbuildings, early C19. Coursed rubble with tooled-and- margined quoins and dressings; Welsh slate roofs with red moulded ridge tiles. Ranges on south and west of rectangular yard (largely in filled by C20 sheds); barn with gingang on south projects to rear of west ranger South range 2 storeys, 4 bays; 2 boarded doors;, part-slatted windows. West range 2 storeys, 7 bays, irregular. Segmental-headed arches (part-blocked) to bays 2, 6 and 7, boarded doors, part-slatted windows to 1st floor. All openings in alternating-block surrounds.

Rear elevation similar. Gingang has 4 piers and conical roof; roof structure has central post with radial struts, curved purlins and closely-spaced rafters. _

Single-storey part to north of north range and various C20 sheds and outbuildings, not of interest.
