22/108 The Old Vicarage, (South House, North House and the Old Vicarage Flat)

Vicarage. 1785 incorporating earlier fabric, altered in mid-C19; rear part heightened late C19 or early C20. Rubble with cut quoins and tooled dressings; Welsh slate roofs. Square plan: 2-storey L-plan part and 3-storey block behind. South elevation 2 storeys, 4 bays. Left bay slightly projecting, without windows; to right, doorway, with raised stone surround and cornice, inside C19 gabled wood porch with pointed arch; 12-pane sash windows in raised stone surrounds. Hipped roof. Pent extension to right has similar window, probably re-set. 3-storey part behind and to right has hipped roof and tall banded lateral stack.
Left return 6 bays with sash windows in similar surrounds; left 2 bays, slightly set back, French windows, up 2 steps, with 18-pane sashes, the 12-pane lower leaf sliding upwards into cavity in the wall above; front skin of cavity is brick, visible externally. Other windows 15-pane sashes with 12-pane sashes above, those in right 2 bays re-set in mid-C19 wall.
Interior: stone stair with stick balusters, moulded newel and handrail.
