6/119 Ashholme Farmhouse and adjacent farmbuildings II
House and farmbuildings. House dated 1751 on door lintel, extended to rear in later C19. Farmbuildings early C19. Rubble with dressings; continuous slate roof over house and buildings. House 2 storeys, 3 bays, slightly irregular. Right of centre renewed door in chamfered surround; lintel with sunk panel containing initials I.W. and date, between 2 hearts, all carved in relief. Panel flanked by incised initials R and W. 16-pane sash windows, centre 1st floor renewed, in tooled stone surrounds with slightly projecting sills. Farmbuilding to left 2 storeys, 2 irregular bays; boarded door in stone surround, to right external stone stair to 1st floor boarded door, to left 2 ground-and one lst-floor windows. Farmbuilding to right 2 storeys, 3 wide bays; central boarded door with alternating tooled and moulded jambs. Flanked by part-slatted windows and with pitching door directly above. Lower section to right, with C20 garage doors, not of interest. Rear elevation; house with 2 gabled wings, rendered; building to left has 3 doorways to byres, all with stable doors and alternating tooled and margined jambs; building to right has rear outshut.
