22/314 West part of farmbuilding group to north of Maudlin Farmhouse II
Barn with gingang and cartshed/granary. Barn probably late C18, other parts early C19. Squared stone, C19 parts with tooled-and-margined quoins and dressings; Welsh slates except for synthetic blue slates on cartshed/granary. L-plan. Barn with gingang on west and cartshed/granary range running west from south end.
South elevation: End of barn at right has stable door, renewed window in chamfered surround, and 3 pigeon holes under coped gable. Cartshed/granary to left has 4-bay arcade of chamfered segmental arches; renewed windows above in alternating-block surrounds with slightly-projecting sills. Far left later bay with boarded door and pitching door, and hip-ended roof.
Left return: Projecting cartshed/granary range on right shows casement windows with timber lintels in end and 3 slatted granary windows on inner return. Barn shows boarded door and stable door to right of gingang which has 7 square piers, including larger stepped pair on north and south, and conical roof.
Interior: Gingang has heavy transverse beam between larger piers; separate tie-beam above carries central octagonal post with radial struts; 2 levels of curving chamfered purlins.
Outbuilding on north of gingang and altered building to east of barn are not of special interest.
