4/10 Netherton Hall East, West and West Wing GV II
House, now subdivided. East part of main range probably C17 remodelled C18, west part early C18 heightened later C18, west wing and porch early C19. East part of main range coursed rubble heightened in squared stone; west part squared stone with ashlar porch, with rubble left return; west wing squared stone on west and rubble on east. Welsh slate roof except for C20 synthetic roof covering on one rear slope. L-plan.
South elevation 3 storeys, 6 bays. Right 3-bay part has 4 steps up to central renewed double doors and 12-pane sash windows, some renewed. Possibly C17 masonry up to 1st floor sill level, with traces of blocked openings. Left part has central porch with renewed half-glazed door and side-lights, under hoodmould, and single-light windows on returns; openings in chamfered surrounds. 12-pane sash or fixed windows, some renewed, those to ground floor in stone surrounds. Roof hipped to left, coped right gable; stepped-and-corniced ridge and right end stacks.
Left return 2 storeys, 7 bays. Right 2-bay part is end of main block; 12-pane sashes with blocked windows to right. Left part has 12-pane sashes except for one altered to French window, and round-arched stair window on right, a 12-pane sash with radial-glazed head. Coped left gable, stepped-and-corniced ridge stacks and left end stack.
Rear elevation of main range shows 2-storey outshut; varied fenestration.
Interior not inspected, except for west wing: ground floor room with dentil and guilloche cornice.
